This authentic Italian Caffe was created in 1992 by Gianfranco Marrocco who had come to America from Italy with a dream. He loved the outdoor caffes of his native country, and he was certain that Americans were ready for this cosmopolitan lifestyle. Caffe Dolce Vita was the first outdoor caffe in Providence, located in the heart of picturesque DePasquale Plaza on Federal Hill, and now it has been reborn after a major renovation. It is a vital part of Marrocco's hospitality empire which also includes Mediterraneo, Geppettos, and Hotel Dolce Villa, all on Federal Hill.
A favorite hangout for local artists, the new Caffe Dolce Vita is more aesthetically pleasing than ever. The interior is a showcase of contemporary Italian Modernism, with warm tones of ochre, copper, and bronze, sage green upholstered leather banuettes, and a spray of golden glass wall covering, accented by a pink infused back-lit lighting fixture suspended above the black marble bar.
